Description

George T. Stagg is one of the five annual releases in Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection — uncut and unfiltered, bottled at full barrel proof rather than diluted to a standard strength. This release was distilled in spring 1997 and bottled in fall 2013, at roughly 15 years and 11 months of age.

A collector's centerpiece and one of the most requested annual Antique Collection releases — a gift reserved for someone who already knows what Stagg is. Neat, with water on the side to open it up.

Tasting notes — Nose: Aged wood, raisin, caramel and a hint of corn (2013 release, Breaking Bourbon). Palate: Sweet caramel, then allspice and leather; direct and impactful (2013 release). Finish: Long; candy corn and rubber notes resolving to wet wood and tobacco (2013 release).
